Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Mikiri counter guide

The Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Mikiri counter is a relatively easy technique to pull off. In order to successfully perform this powerful counter, players simple have to dodge straight into an enemy attack. This powerful tech only works on stab attacks, which the game will alert players to with a big red symbol and an iconic sound each time an enemy is about to do one of these attacks.

After the icon shows up, and the sound happens, players have to dodge straight at the enemy when they see the attack starting to come at them. If done correctly, Wolf will step on the enemy weapon, doing significant damage to enemy poise, and also blocking the attack. Not only that, but this almost always gives the player an opportunity to get at least one free hit on the enemy afterwards.

Be careful when using this powerful technique because the same symbol and sound queue will appear for an unblockable sweeping attack as well. If players dodge into a side-sweep attack, they will be completely vulnerable and no matter what get hit for usually high amounts of damage.

Below is a YouTube video tutorial that shows how to perform this powerful counter technique.

Hopefully you found this Sekiro guide useful. As you can see, it's a relatively simple move to pull off. Some enemy attacks give bigger or smaller windows of time to react, making some extremely difficult to react to. This is one of the most powerful defense moves in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
