Gacha Club type effectiveness chart, strengths and weaknesses

If you were wondering how strong or weak each element is towards each other in Gacha Club, then you came to the right place. For this Gacha Club guide, we've complied a chart with all the numbers below. Basically water, wind, and fire are a trifecta and then light and dark are opposites while corruption, D.J. and Shadow have their own twist to them towards all other elements.

Gacha Club type effectiveness chart:

Attacker > Water Wind Fire Light Dark Corruption D.J. Shadow
Water 1x 2x .5x 1x 1x 1.5x 1x 1.1x
Wind .5x 1x 2x 1x 1x 1.5x 1x 1.1x
Fire 2x .5x 1x 1x 1x 1.5x 1x 1.1x
Light 1x 1x 1x 1x 2x 1.5x 1x 1.1x
Dark 1x 1x 1x 2x 1x 1.5x 1x 1.1x
Corruption 1x 1x 1x 1x 1x 1.5x 1.5x 1.1x
D.J. .9x .9x .9x .9x .9x 1.5x 1x 1.1x
Shadow 1x 1x 1x 1x 1x 1.5x 1.1x 1.1x

What does all this mean?

Well effectively, the water, wind, and fire elements work in a triangle. Fire is good against wind, while wind is good against water, and water is good against fire. Light and dark are in their own domain as well where the light element does bonus damage to the dark element but the dark element also does bonus damage to the light element.

The corruption, D.J., and Shadow elements are where things get weird in Gacha Club.

So Corruption does 1.5x bonus damage to all other elements, but it also takes 1.5x bonus damage when corruption gets attacked by any of the other elements.

The Shadow element does 1.1x bonus damage to all the other elements but also takes 1.1x damage when attacked by the other elements, including shadow itself.

The D.J. element does normal damage to all other types except for shadow and corruption. The D.J. element also receives normal damage when attacked by all the other elements except for shadow and corruption.

So what about using corruption then?

Some people might learn this and think corruption is hands down the best, and in some cases that's true, but also have to remember that corruption takes a ton of bonus damage when attacked. If you're farming the training modes for enhancements then it can definitely make sense; however, when trying to beat shadow bosses, corruption has drawbacks since it can so easily get taken out in one single attack. Plan wisely when picking units based on their types, but at the same time the unit skills and base stats tend to matter even more than their unit type in Gacha Club.
