Conan Exiles is a new early access steam game developed and published by Funcom. Taking place in the world of Conan the Barbarian, Conan Exiles is a sandbox survival video game. In this game players can craft great buildings, gather resources, fight epic monsters, and even summon "avatars" which are gigantic god-like beings to control and destroy other players bases with.

Conan Exiles leveling system

In Conan Exiles player characters can level up from killing monsters, crafting, and gathering. How much they gain from these activities can be modified in the server settings, check with the server admins to find out what the multipliers are set to.

Players need more and more experience to level up as they gain levels in Conan Exiles. There's a hard level cap at level 50, which takes a long time to get to with the default experience values. With each of these levels players get skill points and knowledge points. Skill points can be used to upgrade various stats, and knowledge points can be used to unlock crafting recipes.

Even at level 50, players can only unlock around half of all the crafting recipes in the game, so it takes two or three players to be able to craft everything at once. Players can actually reset their knowledge points with yellow lotus blossom potion, which can be very useful in single-player.

Conan Exiles crafting recipes

In order to get anywhere in Conan Exiles players are going to have to learn some crafting recipes. Every player starts with survivalist and weaver unlocked, along with the Acolyte recipe of their chosen religion.

Players need knowledge points to learn more complex crafting recipes in the player inventory. These points can be gained by leveling up. Each level will give player knowledge points, the number of points gained per level increases at higher player levels.

There are many different creatures and thralls in Conan Exiles. Some are wildlife such as rabbits, gazelles, rhinos, and so on. There are also monsters such as dragons, skeletons, and so on.

Thralls are also an interesting part of the game. These humanoids can be knocked out, dragged to a wheel of pain, and broken into slaves. They're extremely useful for defending bases, getting the best armor and weapons, and more.

Every enemy in Conan Exiles yields some sort of resources. Most enemies yield food, bones, and hides. Some enemies have specific items such as demon blood, or brimstone. There are so many enemies in Conan Exiles, it will take quite a while to see them all.

Conan Exiles Avatars

Avatars are one of the most unique features in Conan Exiles. Players can summon and control avatars for a very short time to destroy entire player bases, castles, and civilizations.

Summoning an avatar is not easy however, it takes a lot of resources and a high priest. Players need a tier 3 religion building, which takes an immense amount of resources.

These enormous creatures are so strong that there's an option in the server settings to disable them. By default players can summon and control these creatures for 60 seconds, which is more than enough time to completely destroy any player-made base or area of control.

Avatars are one of the most exciting and interesting features of Conan Exiles. There's one avatar for each religion in-game. Each one has it's own unique form of destruction, but regardless of which one is used, they're all immensely powerful.

Thralls are slaves that can be dragged back from thrall camps. Each one has its own unique purpose. There are blacksmith thralls that give better weapons, dancers who remove corruption, and so on. Thralls are the other most interesting feature of Conan Exiles, along with avatars.

Religion is one of the most important parts of the Conan Exiles experience. Every player picks a religion at the start of the game. This religion will be the backbone of their adventure for most players.

Every religion has a building of worship where players can craft religion-specific items. Every religion has its own unique benefits and items.

Religion is also a great talking point for players in-game. Role-players can get a lot of entertainment out of the religious aspect of the game.
