The Sandstone Foundation is the most basic building piece in all of Conan Exiles. This piece must be placed in order to build anything on top of it. All the walls, doors, and other basic building pieces must be based upon foundation pieces.

There are three tiers of foundations in the game with the sandstone foundation being the weakest and cheapest of them. This foundation is so much easier to make than the others that players generally build these for a very long time before later upgrading to higher level pieces.

The Sandstone Foundation can be crafted for 50 stone and 5 wood a piece. Also players must have the Apprentice Stonemason crafting recipe unlocked in order to make sandstone foundations, or any sandstone pieces for that matter.

Sandstone foundations can be stacked on top of each other, as seen in the picture above. This can allow players to do a variety of things, like making enormous staircases and so much more. The building system allows for quite a bit of creativity and fun in Conan Exiles.
